Steve Camps (b 1957) is an artist based in Cornwall. He paints in the established and very popular naive manner of Alfred Wallis, Fred Yates etc. Much more can be found about Camps on the internet, and he is represented by a gallery in Falmouth. His paintings entertain and amuse and have clearly found a niche. They sell very quickly.
This painting comes from my private collection and is in many ways typical of his work because it uses his favourite motifs of a whale, a ship and a lighthouse, yet is also different in that he has included three different whale species. This is a signed example

The painting is simply framed in gently white-washed pine. The outer measures 15" x 12" (approx 38 x 30.5cms) and the image size is approx 1¾" (4.5cms) smaller.
