A 19thC Swedish folk art wooden mug

A classic piece of Swedish artisan folk art; this mug was constructed in the 19thC from wood staves, bound together with half round strip bands. It has a hinged lid (possibly indicating dairy use?) and is a fantastic piece, made beautiful in its utter simplicity. The wooden handle allows you to flip the lid with your thumb and scoop up a full load, perhaps of milk or cream form the top of the pail.
